Bhaichung Bhutia has been a part of the Indian national football team from 1995. He has been the spearhead of the Indian attack since then and is still India’s youngest goal scorer. In 1999 he was also awarded the Arjuna award. In 2008 he was awarded the Padma Shri.

He had the vision of starting of an Association for the Players and with the help of his team mates he started of an association which is called the FOOTBALL PLAYERS ASSOCIATION OF INDIA. He is the president of the association.

Mahesh Gawli has been part of the Indian football team since 1997 and has been part of several triumphs like the AFC Challenge Cup and Nehru Cup. Gawli is the only Indian Player to have been named in the Asian All Star U-16 team.

Venkatesh Shanmugam has been a part of the Indian national team in all the levels since 1997. He has been a very lethal mid fielder for his respective clubs as well as the Indian national side. He has been awarded the best player award in the national league several times.

Abhishek Yadav began his professional career at Mahindra United in the 1999 season. He has always been very lethal in the air. He started his international career in 2002 and has made 43 appearences for the team.

Jahan has been the driving force behind the professionilisation of our association. He has played an instrumental role in getting our association recognised as a member of FIFPRO & is currently on the board of FIFPRO Asia. He along with our president Bhaichung Bhutia have ensured that our association is financially strong & has been a constant source of encouragement for our young professional team to take our organisation to even greater heights.

Jahan was quick to learn about the international movement.He feels that if we can implement a couple of their best practices it would help us grow as a football playing nation. He is currently persuing dialgue with the various football authoraties to help implement systems that will help the players, clubs & the federation.

Sunil Chhetri has been a part of the Indian national team since 2004 and another very ferocious striker. He has played for several clubs including Kansas city wizards. He was awarded the most valuable player in the AFC challenge cup and was also awarded the player of the year by AIFF.

Mehrajuddin wadoo or better known as “ the Tank” began his international career in 2005. He has immense power and has a lot of control in the mid-field.

Dipak Mandal is the treasurer for the FPAI. He has been a part of the Indian national team since 2001 and is very well known for his high work rate and is one of the few footballers to receive the Arjuna Award. For both international as well as the club level he plays with equal consistency. He has been awarded the player of the year in many occasions in the national league.

Renedy Singh has been a regular sight in the Indian national squad since 1998. He is one of India’s best dead-ball specialist. He has also been India’s vice captain.

Syed Rahim Nabi popularly known as Nabi is a versatile player who has been playing for the Indian national side since 2004. Nabi has won almost every domestic trophy while playing for East Bengal.

Steven Dias has been a part of the Indian national squad since 2006 and is well known for his long range shooting, crossing and passing.
